The Truth
I may not know what your life looks like as you are reading this. There are so many things that we focus on from day to day. There are bills that need to be paid, needs of a husband or wife, needs of children, stress from a job, medical conditions, legal obligations, or even tensions with friends or family members. All of these things are important because these are sometimes daily concerns and weights on our hearts. These conditions however are not as important as the greatest need you have at this moment.
The condition of your soul is more important than anything else in life. Did you know that you were fearfully and wonderfully made? You are not an accident whether your parents planned you or not. It’s says this in Psalms 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” You are a worthy prize in God’s eyes but our wrongdoings have caused us to fall out of this connection with God. Not only were you intentionally made but you are also loved by God despite all of the wrong you have ever done. From the most notorious crime to the smallest lie, we can never reach the perfect standard by ourselves because God is perfect.
“Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.” -Revelations 15:4
Whether it’s lying, cheating, stealing, sexual impurity, killing, or any other type of sin, we deserve to be punished before a righteous judge. The hard truth is that you are guilty of sin and God sees all.
“For the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God’s laws.” -James 2:10
The Good News
There is hope in the middle of all this. God saw the weakness of mankind and sent His Son Jesus Christ to pay the price of our sin. What is the price to be paid for something spiritual like sin? Blood has to be shed for God to forgive us of our sins. Death and sacrifice must be made. James 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Jesus Christ was perfect and did not sin but he took our place of punishment. When He was whipped, beaten beyond recognition, ridiculed, and hung up on the cross, He was thinking of you. Loving you so much to take your death and pain so that you could connect with God the Father.

In Jesus’ words He said “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” -John 14:6
After He took your punishment, He was buried in a tomb and in 3 days He resurrected with all power in His hands. He not only defeated your sin but He also defeated death, Satan, the powers of darkness, sickness, pain, fear, anxiety, suffering, guilt, shame, and every negative aspect of life you could ever imagine. The Good News is that through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, we are able to be in right standing with God and have the reconnection we once lost! This is why we love God.
1 John 4:19 – “We love because he first loved us.”
When we are guilty of a crime and someone steps in on our behalf to take the punishment that we deserve, we should respond with thanksgiving and love towards that person. Jesus Christ did this for you out of love and we respond by dedicating our lives to glorify Him not because we just want to go to heaven and not hell but because we appreciate our loving God who strives to have a relationship with us. He is personal but for this reconnection to be established, you must first give your life to Christ so that you can be saved from eternal punishment of your soul. Please read the Salvation Prayer OUT LOUD so that the spirit in you and the blood of Jesus can be activated for your life.
Salvation Prayer
Lord God, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I confess all of my sins that I have done in my life. I believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to the earth and walked a sinless life. He bled and died on the cross for me as a sacrifice for all the sin that I have committed and took my punishment. I believe He rose again on the third day with all power in His hands and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. I believe that Jesus Christ is the only way that my sins can be forgiven and I ask you Jesus to come into my heart and make me whole. I dedicate my life to you Jesus Christ, as my Lord and Savior and will follow Your ways for the rest of my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
